Wednesday Meditation, Outer Banks
“Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”
Inspired by Wednesdays meditation in Northern California and the attitude of selfless service, we gather second Wednesday of every month to sit in silence for an hour, do a circle of sharing our “aha” moments from the month’s inspirational reading (which is sent out in advance), and have a home-cooked vegetarian meal (prepared by the host) together. There is no cost to attend and there is no proposed agenda. It is simply an offering in the spirit of service.
Our format for the evening goes like this:
6:00PM | An hour of collective silence; its mainly unguided with just enough instructions to get started even if you are new to meditation. For first-timers, this primer on meditation may be helpful. |
7:00PM | Short reading, followed by a circle of sharing of “aha” moments from everyday life. |
8:00PM | Home-cooked vegetarian meal |
